Fishing

I'm not sure what is allowed but I'm wondering if I could tell people to watch a Fishing show I might be on, or put up a post about a charity event I'm hosting. I also do tournaments but I see a tournemet section so I know that is ok.

There are boards that cover just about every topic that could arrise.

The tournament and event board is where you'd want to post and up and comming charity event. You could also post that info on your local state board. Most of the time, it's at the discression of the Moderators on the particular board. I would allow a post about a charity event on the Saltwater board as long as it is fishing orientated.

If you're going to be on a fishing show, the Not neccisarilly fishing board would be a good one. That board has alot of traffic and is appropriate for that type of post.

If you happen to post a topic that isn't related to the board, we'll move the post and notify you of the edit. So, no biggie.

We at BFT are big on spreading the word about fishing and outdoor sports. Anytime there is a charity event, seminar, or tournament we'd love to have the information on it. It's all about the anglers,and anytime we get info that might help out another angler, it makes me feel all fuzzy inside. Usually, one of the topics associated with events like metioned above is conservation and preservation. And that's what it's really all about.

post them in the state you are working out of, (if it is florida its cool) and you can post it on charter reveiw board, if it has to do with salt water fishing you might even get away with posting it in the salt water board if it is ok with brian here

if ever you have a question as to where something sould go just ask.

you dont want to spam the entire site with it, but those three boards are your best bets.

the most common thing we frown on here is providing links to other forums.

you can always write you post in a pm and send it to me or brian or other moderaters here to see where the post is most likely to fit in. once you get a few under your belt the rest is fairly easy going...

As the Moderator of the News board, I would look at your announcement as a possible news item, and would allow your post as long as it has to do with fishing or the promotion thereof.

However, with that said, if it is just a plug or advertisement, you could post it on our "Advertisers Board".

In any case, as was already mentioned, if your post seems a little out of place on the board that you put it on, don't worry about it too much. We as moderators can always just relocated your post to the appropriate board and we would also leave a pointer so that it could be followed and found where ever it ended up. And, it really would not be too much work for us.

So, feel free to post up your info and announcement !
