Good local bluegill pond?
Anybody know a good local (Nampa/Boise) bluegill pond suitible for teaching a newbie to flyfish?

Please PM me if you know of a really good spot.

There is a small pond in Kuna where you can catch bluegill, crappie, and pumpkinseed quite easily. A dry-dropper rig works wonders. Although you dont catch big fish, you catch a lot of 3-4 inchers. There are also almost no trees and bushes, just grass, which makes for easy casting.

I don't know what it's like these days, but Horseshoe Bend pond used be absolutely loaded with Pumpkin Seeds and Blue Gills.
Keep your gunpowder dry and your hooks in the water. ><>J

I just go to the caldwell rotory pond but its nothing to brag about. If you go before sat. evening keep some for me i need the baitWink

Lake Lowell is really good right know for bluegill. if you get lucky you might get nice bass or perch. This 8 year old kid cought 19in bass on wed right in front of me. Smile
