Any stretch of river around there should produce some fish. I'd say by either bridge on linder road is a decent spot or you could try behind the fish hatchery there by eagle island also where star road crosses the Boise. Jump in and wade around and you'll find some good holes. Probably not gonna get into many big fish but there's a few hogs hanging around and usually plenty eager stockers

Swinging spinners IE Mepps into the deeper holes can occasionally yield a nice fish.

That area in general is traditionally known for the smaller cookie cutter planters though.

Jump in the river at the Duff Lane access and head upstream. You'll find some nice holes starting 1/2 mile up. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I did fish off of Star rd below the bridge and managed 10 or so squaws on dry flies, but not trout. It seems the water there was super warm. I was under the impression trout don't do well in warm water?

Correct. There is science that indicates a German brown can tolerate water temps up to 60 degree's, but rainbow's and other species cannot thrive in such temps...

Up river, closer to town and after the floaters get off the water is always a better bet.

That being said and like I said earlier, there is the occassional brutus down where you are fishing.
