Not bad for 1.5 hrs today.
Headed out to one of my local spots while the kid was at science camp today. Took the float tube out and skipped to my usual all around spinner option. I got about 3 good hits, one or two of which were probably snagged carp. Couldn't keep most on, but I had crimped the barbs. Ended up landing a nice 17" smallie and on the way out hooked what I thought at first was a small carp but turned into a good sized brown. Don't know the exact measurements since it was bigger than the scale on my stripping skirt. The scale maxes at 20" and it easily went 2 inches more. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Outstanding! Both of those are exceptional fish for a quick trip. Nice local spot.
