Fishing

I am from Chicago and am making a trip down to Indy this weekend. What are some decent lakes around the southside of Indianapolis? When I say around I mean 20-30 minutes at most. Thank you very much for any help and advice.

I would call first, This weekend is Indy's free fishing weekend.
this one is located north west side of Indianapolis just off of 65 get off on w- 71st street. go west in to the park.

Is located north out of Indianapolis not far

You can also try Lilly Recreation Park, south indianapolis. Take 70 west out of the center of town and get of and go south on S Harding St go east on W Raymond St, take the first right in to the park.

"We decided on Eagle Creek Reservoir. After a bit of research, we decided on a spot right off of 56th street. Take 465 around to the west side and 56th street head west. After you cross over the lake, on your right side (north) you will see the parking area. You know you’re in the right spot when you see the frame of a huge metal bear."

Was getting alot of bites in this spot, but no big catches. Good luck!

Eagle creek is full of catfish. Great place to fish from shore. Chicken livers.

I have fished eagle creek a bunch of times from shore and from my tube. I've never caught anything. Also, I didn't think just anyone could fish at the Lilly Rec park. I thought you had to be a Lilly employee? there is a gate at the front that never lets me in.
