Thanks partner! Keep in mind, our fishing season really doesn't get going for another few weeks, so feed back from me won't be until a little later on. Plus, i have to finish by boat. But, i'm sure i'll have that completed this weekend.

Thanks alot Tom! Those are some great looking lures!

I hear you on the seasonal stuff. Now that it is March 1st we have a better variety to fish for. The Fish and Game dudes chop off around 70 species for Jan and Feb. That only leaves us 337 species to fish for in the winter. That Sucks

The lures look great, my firstthougt was for Mahi, wahoo, kingfish, maybe sails. The hoo and king rigs would need wire but I still like the concept.

Also to answer the "do you think the red line made a difference?" NO, I don't need to try the rig, I know the science behind the stuff. Red is the first color of the spectrum that gets blocked out when passed through water. That does not make the line invisible, it just turns it a shade of grey. Take a photo of a stop sign using a black and white camera and you will see what happens. Also if red went invisible divers would wear red wetsuits. The reality is the stuff was designed to catch fishermen. Just my $.02

Hey Tom, I got my rigs yesterday. Seriously, those things look way cool. After seeing them, I bet they will work great for sea bass as well. Those thing are really cool. I've neve seen a squid skirt that small, and the pictures did no justice as to the quality of the rig. Good job dude!

I'm planning a trip in two weeks, that is, if it's warm enough to go. I'm going to slap a squid strip on the hook and cast it over the wrecks. If a flounder doesn't get it, it will probably drive the sea bass nuts. I'll make sure you get plenty of pictures.

It'll be later on in the season before I can try them trolling. The water temp needs to get in the mid to high 70's before they'd be very effective.

Thanks Tom, i'll keep you posted.

gdn443

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that. I'm getting nutz over my new boat delivery, just call me "short time". I want to be sure I can dedicate the proper attention to your lures so I will pass for right now. If it's ok with you I might revisit this in about a month.

My rigs came in the mail a few days ago. Thanks and I'll be getting them tested around the 1st of April. I don't want to loose them before I go for my planned target species.Wink

I got your package as well! Hey dude, did you make those lures? Those things are pretty sweet. They are really thick, I could bury a good sized hook in them for larger fish.Cool

I can only hope they bring you as much luck as Tomc and I have had. I can't believe they get $6.95 for three. Let us know how the rigs work.

nice nice looking rig,

Question? Did you use a five or seven loop Snell knot?

knowing the cost of materials and time involved to make one, I am suprized they are not getting 3.95 apiece...

Re: [gdn443] fluke/summer flounder fishermen In reply to
now that sounds like a fair price...

that line is any thing but cheep, same with the hooks and blades and it takes a nack to keep those loops taught and uniform with regular monofiliment, being able to make that heavy gage line do it is a real skill not every one possess,

Tom told me my steal walleye leaders were similar to his squid leader when I sent him samples of mine. (in design only). Well all I can say is when ya gotta a good patern that works, stay with it....Cool
