Two years ago I took out a vet and his wife, and it was a great time for everyone, and we even caught some fish. I want to do it again, but I want to wait to make sure that day will work for me before I commit.

Sign me up! I can take two in my boat with me and a crew member.

Trevor, I would like to volunteer. Don't have a boat I feel is large enough or stable enough to support someone that may have some handicap. But would like to help out wherever I could be used on shore. Sending PM

Having only been on Strawberry twice over 10 years ago, is this the main marina ? Or another one. How would I get here from say, Heber City?

Fred,

you will just continue past the Strawberry Marina an additional 9 or 10 miles if coming out of Heber. View the map in full screen, if not the two markers may shift.

Thanks for your support!!!

And if you come to the Solider Creek Dam turn off sign then you have went to far. Then turn around and go back about 3/4 of a mile for the turnoff to the ramp.

Cliff,

I'm not in charge of scheduling the dates but for the last five years the event has only been in August once. Hopefully by next year you'll be up and running and be able to come play with us.

2013- July 27
2014- Aug 2
2015- July 11

Based on feedback the majority of boaters want the event held in July when the Kokanee fishing is still good. The earlier the better.

Re: [WiperMac] 2017 Utah Disabled Veteran Fishing Event In reply to
Will shore fishing likely be productive and appropriate there?

If so, then there might be disabled veterans who for whatever reasons might prefer shore fishing. That has been my preference for the last several years. It would be great to match me up with some well in advance for me to have a chance to accommodate special needs as I'm more resourceful when knowing to specifically prepare.

I have plenty of tackle and lures to share and can also teach some techniques. But, I have no experience with this location, so those among us who are experienced shore fishermen with the area are invited to help me know which lures from my collection that I should bring in quantity (I have much more than will fit in my vehicle) and check on us before boats launch and even during the fishing to give pointers on location, depth in the water column that is most active, point out which lures are best choices, technique coaching, etcetera. Also, those disabled veterans who experience difficulties in a boat yet still want to fish, are invited to join the group.

I'm in Sandy and I can also take one disabled veteran from near me in my vehicle.

Ronald :)

Let's go fishing! I prefer to fish with others. I'm well equipped with plenty to share. Let's team up! Private Message me to suggest I come to where you're fishing.

be prepared, be very prepared
