So Kent, did you make it up this morning? Sounds as if the road to the marina is bermed off at highway 40. I am planning on going up in the morning (Wednesday) for probably my last ice trip. I will probably go on over to the soldier creek side.

Trust me you guys are confusing the road closer with maintenance , the road maybe closed after the next storm but as of right now it is open. When it snows enough they will pile. Up snow at the mouth of the road so vehicles can’t go past that point and get stuck . That’s how they do it in all the in plowed areas I have riden

This morning we found the road closed right at Highway 40. When we came home they had moved the closure down to just past the Clyde Creek parking lot.

Yes we went up and parked at The Ladders and fished out by The Knolls.

Thanks for your report yesterday. I have never been to the Ladders in the winter (have always gone to the marina) is there snowmobile access there? What were the snow conditions on the lake for a snowmobile?

If I have it right Strawberry is administered by the USFS Heber Ranger District. I have always gotten an answer to my phone calls and the info seems to be up to date.

The easiest place to access the ice at Strawberry is at The Ladders. This is true by walking, snowmobile or otherwise. It is shallow for a few blocks, so one has to walk quite a ways to reach deeper water.

No problems at all getting around on a snowmobile. It was -1 when we got there and it only warmed up to the upper 20s or so.

Just be careful, at The Ladders, to avoid the area close to where the river enters the reservoir. Thin ice around that area.

You're welcome. Forgot to mention that there is a large plowed parking lot and an outhouse.
