Hello from New Zealand
Good'ay folks. Work brought me down south a bit to New Zealand and although most of the rivers are closed for the winter I did manage to bring my flyrod. There are a few places to fish and I shall give them a try if I get some free time. In the meantime if any of you out there have been down here and know of some areas to try dont hesitate to inform me. The weather is quite nice despite being winter and generally a light frost is all there is in the early mornings. Its simply beautiful here and the scenery is amazing.
Here are a couple photos of the area near Christchurch and the sunrise. Its Friday the 13th here. There is also one of a volcano out the airplane window near Auckland. Enjoy the 100 degree temps out there. Its light jacket weather here!!
Cheers!

Ugh skiing!!!! You have already made me super jealous. I have family that lives on the south end on the beach and they absolutely swear by the fishing from their back deck.

You lucky dog. I love Christchurch. I'd love to move to NZ"ed" if I could. I used to work for Tait and flew down for a week of work. Didn't get a chance to fish but fell in love with the people and the place.
