As soon as the roads clear and the temps are high enough to get between your vehicle and the lake on the boardwalk.

The lake is warm, but you can injure body parts sliding on that boardwalk if it is covered with frost, ice or snow. And, you have to use the boardwalk to get to the lake...unless you want to slog through the bog and risk disappearing in quicksand. I already tried that. Better to use the boardwalk.

Usually anytime after about the middle of February it is good. March might be better for all species. We can keep an eye on it and when the ice starts to disappear over here, and it is too early for open water, that is exactly the right time.

In the meantime, hit the range and practice up with some softnose rounds.

I think the biggest was around 5 pounds but we used to catch alot of bass over 3 pounds im not a big bass fisherman so i was exited to be catching those

Yes, it is in Utah. You go into Nevada and take Hwy 93 south toward Ely, but then the road to Blue Lake takes you back into Utah.

Can you use a call if baiting isn't working...

Tilapia tacos okay with you? I usually don't keep the bass and bluegills.

Might have some "varmint" venison if our super snipers get some shots.

Tilapia is one great tasting fish....

We got 3 dogs the last time we tried to call them in, but we didn't see any snakes....

I called the DWR and asked them what the limit is. and they didnt respond to my question. haHAha.

  That's because there are no tilapia in Utah .

Someone has abandoned an older full size truck just west-southwest of the hard mud parking lot, great place for a sniper. If we are going to have a get together out there it wouldn't bother me one bit if every tilapia caught out of the big pond was deep fried that day. Lil' buggers like them eggs and bass minnows . The smaller pond is being taken over by tilapia. There was a bass in there that was curious as to what the heck I was doing, wasn't interested in anything I threw by him but he kept circling me.
