James River Fishing Lynchburg, VA
So the Subject basically says it all. I am looking to try my hand at small mouth bass fishing in the James River. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good spots to go near Lynchburg, VA or in the surrounding areas. I don't have a boat so I would be fishing from the shore but I also wouldn't be opposed to wading out a little ways. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

south west of your requested location is

Smith Mountain Lake State Park

It offers a beach, and has a good number of peirs you can fish off, and miles and miles of shore line to fish from...

take lynchburge express to the river, just before you cross, take that exit, go up to the intersection, trun right "on main st", go over the express way to the intersection of washington st, turn right, follow that right in to the park, " James River, Black Water Creek Trail "

take a bike and a telocopic rod, you just might find a spot ya like to wet a line...
