After checking the current regs in our area, sw Wa. Chinook salmon will begin may 1st. You can find additional info at http://www.wa.gov/wdfw/ Good luck and keep fishing

I'll be there, expecting a run 600,000 plus this year. Opener for inland rivers is May 1st, I'll be posting regularly around that time. (Steelhead will also be just around the corner. Chrome metalheads in the 20lb plus range, in three feet of water, truely explosive). Should be including some great pics at that time also....

I just returned from fishing the Wind River fishery on the Columbia River by Hood River OR.. We caught 9 salmon between 20 and 25lbs. My 7 year old grandson landed 3 by himself, it was his first time out for salmon. The main part of the run is crossing Bonniville dam as we speak. Fishing should be good somewhere on the Columbia for the next month. Good Luck.

I'd pay to see that a seven year old on the end of a big o'l salmon.

I still rember my nephew when he was seven hooking in to his first 10 pounder, (was only a carp) but the excitment was there. by golley.
