Fishing

Well I had big goals this weekend, and things were looking real good when I found out I would be fishing 3 days this weekend instead of 2. Since these might be some of my last days this summer to fish I am looking to hook into a couple of Makcs and hopefully one of these Kamloops I am now interested in. With that said I hit the pond this morning about 7 am this morning and after yesterdays storm the pond was looking pretty good. Well that lasted all of about an hour, and a nice 20-30mph East? breeze started. This is probably when I should have left but I decided to sitck it out, most everyone else that was out seemed to leave though. So we tried to find some bows and kokes. We messed around for a few hours without success. So we decided to call it a day and head home. On the way back we passed TarponJim around 12:30 and figured he was probably done for day also. But before we made it back to the truck the wind died down just long enough to tempt us into hitting a couple of close by humps. The fish we found seemed to be very active especially when the wind kicked back up so I figured it would be a good time to really break in the new electric. We ended up fishing several humps in some pretty rough water for quite awile and even had a couple of hits. I also decided that I am not talented enough to stay over the fish in that kind of water while trying to present. We finally left about 6:00 without any fish. I will be trying tommorow again and will let you know how it goes. Wyobraz

Good luck! It will be in the 30s and raining and snowing on Lake Granby down here tomorrow so I'm hoping that will keep all the wusses home!

ya tell me all about it well good thing I live so far away I looked out to linwood and couldnt see it becoue of the snow blowing side way's so I crawled back in bed hopeing for a little brake this afternoon or some thing I dont think it will happen I guess a guy could go do it the gay way (trolling) but I would rather stay in bed with moma so if I can a brake I will see you out on the pond do you have a marine ban Braz I will send you a pm of the channel we run on if you do later ASH

Man I made it as far as having the boat out of the Garage and hooked up to the Powerstroke before I decided to wuss out. I also crawled back in bed with mama and after I got back up this morning we a close to a foot of snow and the stinking w--- is still blowing 30mph. Hopefully tommorow will be better. So thanks to todays weather its now Fish 2 Wyobraz 0.

I'm sorry about that fella's, I must have brought the bad weather this weekend! I was planning on staying longer, but man that sucked to be in a tent at Lucerne! We're going to come back up when the weather will be at least somewhat decent!

We did manage to get a ton of kokes when the wind would ease up. We found some pretty good groups around the pipeline and had success on orange or pink Rocky Mountain Tackle UV hoochies. Cowbells trailed by wedding rings also produced pretty well.

We also messed around with a few bows on the boatramp. Thanks to the weather there really wasn't a ton of boat traffic, so the fishing for rainbows was really good. We used about any dark fly and it was a lot of fun on a flyrod! Here is a pic of what we woke up to this morning...

You would think that growing up here us wyo guys would be a little tougher.haha. I was the same as you guys woke up this morning and said screw this. It's been snowing all day long and the highway dept. must not be up for overtime. Mama was at work so I couldn't even crawl back in bed with her. What a crappy day!!! talk at you guys later.Wally

My word this is getting old. It hasn't stopped snowing all day and I just looked at the weather and it is still supposed to snow 6 inches more tonight along with avstrong northerly w---. I realize its May and this always happens but it sure picked a bad weekend. LOL

I did the same thing this morning, woke up early, looked outside, back to bed !! I'm going tommorrow ..wind or no wind. I have had great days in the wind, doing the gay trolling thing !!

Well I just talked to my fishin bud that was going with me tommorow and we decided to bag it. What a waste of a weekend, I was sure looking to sore mouth a few. Oh well thats what happens in our wonderful state in the spring.

This was my last chance to get out for a few weeks so you guys keep me updated on whats happening around the local waters. I'll be spending probably too much time hanging around here in the next few weeks so the more posts the better.LOL I'll keep you all informed when I start hitting the water again.

you wusses I went out and looked at it well ok I put the boat in and pullled it out with in an hr what a ride lol got a little wet but it tested the hull yep what a wasted day could have had a tackle building party would have been better doing some thing. well chuck nad ken stoped in and we bs the rest of the day and just had dinner thay didnt get out with Jim today like thay wished thay could have so this weekend suck's for us all..........ASH

The drive home wasn't much better today! Heres a pic of the road to Mountain View. Don't you guys have plows up there? LOL All well, we made it home alright... just took forever! We'll be back in about a week to make up for lost time! Keep me posted on the weather. I figured it would clear up the minute we left. I guess not! Tough weekend, but at least the Jazz won tonight!

I would have rather watched it snow and blow than watch the utard jazz lol I was going out this morn but forgot about familly pic's so I will have to wait for this after noon man I haet mother nature this week and the fact that I only have weekend's off really suck's oh well hope soon I can get back on a shift schedule the wind is gone today lol till I get home from town lol ASH

Take it easy Ash! The Jazz are doing great! Those Utards can sure play ball. Of course, none of the players are from Utah... so, maybe thats why they are good players! Brett, I see nothing wrong with that road. It's still alot better than driving in Utah. No other traffic to worry about. Just throw on a set of chains and go for it. You would think that with the way the weather was the plows would have been out,but that's wyoming for you. Besides what kind of adventure would that be if everything went well.

I agree 100% Wally. I would rather drive on them kind of roads than drive in Salt Lake any day of the week! LOL

Yeah, the road wasn't that bad. We didn't have chains but with 4 wheel drive it pulled the boat through it fine. My dad was driving a car behind me (they came up a couple days after us) and they did fine on it too. Just kind of took us a long time to get home! About 4.5 hours instead of the normal time of just over 3 hours. But, all well.

Ash- Funny stuff! I'm not sure which state has more wrestlers! I believe that the gold medalist olympian came from Wyoming though. I hope he doesn't see this post! Those guys are tough suckers!

YA THAT WAS SOME STORM. I THINK THE SNOW FLAKES WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 60 MPH BUT SUNDAY YOU ALL MISSED OUT! IT RAINED HALF THE DAY BUT THE FISH WERE HOT AND ALL OVER THE JIGS. WAS THAT YOU IN THE WHITE BOAT WITH THE BLUE STRIPE. OTHER THAN THAT BOAT I ONLY SAW 1 BIG TROLLING BOAT.

My boat is white with a blue stripe, and we had the canopy up on it. We were pulling it with a red SUV. So, maybe you saw us. But, we didn't even launch on saturday. We just packed up and headed home. We did fish friday night until almost dark though. (and spent some time on the ramp fishing with a fly rod)
