We used to ... until a bunch of "immigrants" found our huckleberry patches and continue to harvest them before they're ready. Seems they'd rather have ALL the berries green than share the ripe ones.

Ain't been able to find new patches since.

Went out yesterday with the wife and kid. We all had a great time spending the afternoon in the shade of the trees. The child crashed hard on the drive home after all that running around. I'll definitely have to do it again.[] The jam we put together last night was definitely worth it.

nothing like going berry picking all day and walking away with purple fingers and a purple butt!![laugh] looks like a good day!!! was it busy were you went?? my usual spot has been way packed with people.. im on the hunt for new spots now!!!

Was a lot of traffic where we were on the road, but we were the only one on the hill where we were picking. There were other vehicles pulled off before that that may have had their own patches though.

Went out again after picking the kid up from school this afternoon. we got another 6 cups of berries for a couple hours work. Found the big ones right at the end. Go figure. Made up 4 jars of sugar free jam from them tonight. Will be interesting to see how they turn out. The regular ones from the other day are great! Headed back in the morning for one last shot at them before heading back to work for the weekend.
