Fishing Line Removal

Line Off
reviewed by Jeremiah T. Bagwell

Overall Rating:
8 out of 10

Let me begin by saying donít be fooled by the simple looking design of this product. If you give it a chance, you will be more than happy with the results.

The Line Off is a must for anglers, even more so for tournament anglers. As a tournament angler, I go through literally thousands of yards of line per season. Previously I had used a little battery operated line stripper that left a huge mess of PowerPro on my floor, Not anymore.

This product is great. The hex shaft can be inserted into the chuck of any hand held drill. Personally, I would suggest using a cordless drill; it just seemed to work a lot better. You can also use a battery powered screwdriver, but once again, the cordless drill is my preference.

Once you have stripped the desired amount of line off of your reels, removing it from the Line Off spool is a piece of cake. All you have to do is loosen the wing nut and separate the cones. Your line will slide smoothly off and remain in a nice little ball. It will reduce the mess you have especially when stripping multiple reels.

The only thing that I didnít like about this product was the color. Although it has absolutely nothing to do with the performance of the Line Off, I think from a marketing standpoint it gives it a cheap appearance. This is a very beneficial product and I think anyone that gives it a try would second that statement. I just think that some will be hesitant to try it simply because of its traffic cone color and the misconception that it might bring.

If you are anything like me and need a quick, efficient and mess free way to remove line from your fishing reels, Line Off is the way to go. No longer will you have to trip over a massive wad of tangled up fishing line. Just attach the Line Off and in about 45 seconds you have a nice little ball of line that you can take to your local line recycling drop box.
