Description:
I live and fish in the remote Kimberley region of Australia. A prized fish around these parts is the barramundi (lates calcarifer) While they do get a fair bit bigger, anything over a meter long is considered exceptional, some fishos try all their lives and don't quite crack the elusive meter mark. I'd previously spent many, many long and hot days and nights sitting next to crocodile infested waters waiting for this baby. She was caught on 6kg line on a relatively cheap shimano corsair 300. She was caught from the banks of a remote river near Derby, in Western Australia. After getting her next to the bank (which was about 6 feet high) it was a case of 'to hell with the crocs, I'm going in after her'. Stupid, but very rewarding as I now have photographic proof.
