New lab. - fishing4thehog - 01-23-2019

I have a new lab puppie. Need to water train him. This spring. I live in west Layton. All the city ponds have rubber matt bottoms around here. With all the algae growth on the bottom it's really hard for dogs to get out of the pond. Where is a natural pond I can train my dog at?

Have you tried Maybey Pond in Clearfield? I've only ice fished it so I don't know but it looks "natural."

Or Holmes Creek Reservoir?

Man, im lost other than the marina area at Willard if they will allow it. Good luck with your new companion.

I've had my labs in the water at Willard when I fish the south and west dikes, they just aren't to thrilled with the boulder hoping to get down to the water.
There are some seasonal ponds on the dog training area at the south end of Willard.

Ya them bolders are a pain.. My old lab broke her leg there. That was the end of my dogs going there. I'll keep checking on the training area.
Thanks
