This one was not working when I was posting some fly tying websites.

It has some good info about fishing the High Sierras, also.

Re: [Dryrod] Fly tying web sites - Scruffy_Fly - 01-16-2007

Here is a website I have had in my favorites for a while but had not looked at in a while.

New tiers will find it useful.

Re: [Dryrod] Fly tying web sites - macfly55 - 01-16-2007

[#000080]I know this does not have anything to do with fly tying sites directly but it does have to do with materials to tie flys.

What type of natural materials do fly tyers look for or need? Specifically, some of you are hunters and as such have access to pelts etc from the animals you hunted. Of those animals, what are the best ones to keep and use for fly tying (deer, rabbit, squirrel, turkey, pheasant, geese etc??)

[black][size 3]These AK Best fly tying tips will help many. But some of the tips work better for production fly tiers that are immensely concerned about fly tying speed.

Re: [Dryrod] Fly tying web sites - macfly55 - 01-17-2007

DR,

My son in law hunts thru the year. I was curious if any of what he hunts would be useful for tyers assuming the hides/feathers etc were prepared properly (hed have to check with a local taxidermist for that)... I was not offering directly just seeing if anything would be of use in case he does save stuff for me...

[sly]My neighbor has a big dog that barks.
It's white with lots of loose hair. Abou the color of Polar Bear.
If I can ever catch the noisy SOB, we'll have lots of that White Dubbing to share.

Re: [macfly55] Fly tying web sites - Dryrod - 01-17-2007

[cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]Hi Mac I was just funning with you about offering some live material. You might want to tan or salt down any hide material that might receive. Otherwise it will draw creatures and not smell to good.[/size][/green][/font]
