Went fishing with the long rods today. Decided that rather than doing any more ice fishing and having to wade through ice cold water to get to the decent ice, I went and checked out Rice Creek. I started in the area where Rice Creek enters Long Lake... no luck. But I did get to see a couple beautiful White Tail Deer.
After no luck finding fish in this area I drove a couple miles up the road and parked. Grabbed my larger rod, went for a short hike, and saw around 40 carp just lazily schooled behind a current break. I'd say, from the looks of them, there were a mix of 5-15 pounders. I didn't have any corn, or bugs, or cereal to offer them. Just a plastic worm, and a plastic grasshopper. They didn't want anything plastic. [:/] I did snag one in the gut accidently. Now that made for a fun time!
