Ok, I know that there are a lot of smart guys on this site so I am hoping to get some help... this is a little off topic but it relates to hunting because I think I am going to have the same problem this fall..
I am trying to understand the "position format" and "map datum" information on my gps...
I was at work yesterday trying to locate something via gps... the cell phone service provider was feeding me gps coordinates for someone and I was pluggint them into my gps in an effort to locate this person..
the problem was that the coordinates they were giving me looked like this 40.768647 and 111.866028.. I looked everywhere in my gps but I could not find a format that looked like that.. I had a format that would have looked like this hddd.ddddd, only five numbers after the decimal instead of six... I have been looking around the internet and I cannot find what format this is.. do I need to change the format or the datum or what... please help
