Inflatable PFD - Ghostrider - 08-09-2007
Can I use my Sospenders inflatable PFD for kayak fishing, or do I need to get a PFD that is specific to kayaking?

That would depend on the regs for the particular body of water inwhich you are partaking of. The US Coastguard writes all the regulations reguardless of the body of water.
Their rules apply as much to freshwater lakes, rivers and streams as it does to the Ocean.
Since I did work in water rescue with the Fire Department, I know for a fact that most lakes require having the PFD handy and "ALL" rivers require it to be on and in a ready state of expansion.
In other words, you would need a kayak jacket for Rivers and SOSpenders are fine for calm lakes.[cool]
