Carp Fishin' - Telbone - 05-22-2011

Heya Guys,

I want to get some carp fishing done... I am all over Toby's proposal to have a carp outting, but I also wanted to propose an idea... here goes,

I say we all pick one spot to fish for carp at on Lake Mead. I am talking land based here. The reason is simple. If we all go to the same spot and throw out chum balls to fish... well the fish should get accustomed to the spot.. ie they know food will be there and will often check the spot... this will make chumming quicker and easier.

The spot should be big 'nough to accomodate several families. I'd also suggest that when a person is through fishing for the evening they throw out several cups of real food... anything will do. Old bread is great.

We could get an absolutely killer spot going this way and also probably meet up with fellow BFT'ers quite frequently. Throwing popcorn at any of lake mead's marinas comes to mind Smile.... [fishon]

Anyone interested?

I vote Kingman Wash. Last time I was there tossing a crankbait, the carp were so thick I kept pulling up scales on my treble hooks. Plenty of room, and not too busy.

Sounds fun, I would for sure show up, and bring any supplies needed. I only tried carp fishing one night, but came up empty. Sounds like what you guys are planning will actually yield some hookups.

I planned on only fishing lures and soft plastics this year, but this sounds like to much fun.

you already know i'm in!!![Wink] but mine and my wifes schedule are funky, we never can count on anything these days. our fishing trips are usually spontaneous, so i say pick a spot and we'll see what we can do. [fishin] carp for everyone!!!

when and were? I like the whizzle spot at Kingman Wash..

I went to gov. wash on Saturday and got two carp..
Good pull but they went to the sallow water and it was over!???!

We got the fish on corn...no love on home made boilies.
Took the boilies to the marina.....carp did not like.....Stripers loved them.

The Stripers could see you when the bait was tossed and would go get it.
