Going camping at Aspen Grove next weekend. Is the water at the lake all filled with Alge? We'll be camping with lots of kids and plan to do some crawdaddin and some fishing from my 19' I/O. Hows the fishing?

I was in that area about 2 weeks ago fishing from shore . Weeds were thick along shore in the Aspen Grove marina area . Should be able to find some Good water to fish if you are in a boat .

I have a boat that allows me to travel all over the lake. It's 19' and it has a good quality depth sounder but no down riggers or trolling motor, so we will be trying white tubes and crawlers on slip bobbers for the kids.
Does anybody fill their tubes with smelly jelly or power bait? I thought I might give that a try.
