Fishing patterns have not changed. Schooling fish can be found in all areas of the lake. The Sequoyah area offers the more consistent schooling fish. Many white bass and black bass can be caught on a variety of lures. Most of the bass are less than 16 inches. Catfish catches are abundant with juggers and drifters being limited only by current. Good water flow normally means good catches. A few good bass are being caught while fishing deep structure. 10 inch plastic worms rigged Texas-style is as good a lure to start with as any other lure. Some stripers are being caught around springs in the larger tributaries. A few more are being caught in the tailwaters. Bluegill or shad will offer the better chance of hooking up. Artificial is fancier, but less efficient. Large humps in the open water are holding white bass. Heavy spinners or spoons will get the job done. River drops are holding plenty of bluegill. Crickets bounced along the bottom will offer a good chance for a fish fry.
