Mission Accomplished...First Albies of 2005
#1
Just got back from the Senor Tuna 2 day on the Pacific Voyager.
Friday morning we awoke to snotty but fishable conditions. On the troll in the gray my lucky Black/Purple cedar plug put the first blood on the deck. Bout a 10-12 pounder. Mostly little guys after that with George Tunabelly taking first day JP with a nice 20# on iron (I believe).
New Year morning dawned with gentle rollers and a wisp of breeze. Beautiful conditions. At 7:00 sharp we got a short jig strike & Skipper Mark stopped on a meter mark. When the dust settled we had 5 bait fish 20# to 25# on the deck. Official time for #1 was 7:03 Mine took awhile longer cause I was fishin' 20#, the fish was 25#, and there was simply no way in HELL I was gonna bust this one off! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Big Grin
Unfortunately that was to be the high point of the day. Got a few more of the little albie and a couple paddy stops for some rat YT. Oh yeah. And one semi-astounding triple jig strike on the rats with not a bush in sight. Huh?
Happy New Year, everybody!
