Once you have completed the registration page, you will receive your password info and confirmation back via email. Please be sure to double check your email address for correctness. Email is the only way to receive the conformation letter. Be sure to keep track of your password.

Many other users’ problems have been discussed there. If an answer to your problem isn’t listed. Feel free to post your own questions. You can post as a guest, if you are unable to register.
Please try to use good judgment in choosing a BFT user name. It is okay to be creative, but this is a family forum. If you’re new "handle" is deemed to be in poor taste, you may be asked to reregister and choose a new one.
The BFT name system is set up so that it has to be all one word...runs together. It will not accept a name with more than one word. However, you can use an "underscore", like this _ to connect two words. For example, BigFishTackle will work. Big_Fish_Tackle will also work. Big Fish Tackle will not.
In setting up your handle, you do not have to use any special "case" for your letters. They can be a mix of UpPeR aNd LoWeR case. They can be ALL UPPER CASE or all lower case. You can incorporate numbers as well, if you have some that have special significance.
You can make posts on many of the BFT boards, without being registered and/or logged on. However, due to past abuse by people who were not serious about helping us keep the site friendly and helpful, we have had to institute the requirement that members be logged on in order to put up posts or replies. We feel that is a small inconvenience to help keep things neat, clean and orderly.
Once you are aboard, you can dress up your personal profile and your signature (which appears on each post and Private Message). Oh yes, we can private message each other back and forth without having to use regular email. And, anytime you log on to the board, you will notice on the top whether you have any "PMs".
We also have a counting system, according to how many posts and replies you make. Most folks quickly notice the little fishy "icons" beneath the names of the members. Those change in progression according to your length of time on the board and the number of posts you make. You cannot choose your own, but you can choose the icon that goes into your signature. The moderators or other more seasoned members will help you with that. We were all newbies at one time, and we know the types of questions everybody has.
As a new member, you are bound to have a lot of questions. Feel free to post them up, if they are important to you. However, you might want to first use the "search" option, up on the options bar. Type in the type of info words you are looking for and you will usually get a list of links to different threads that covered that topic in the past. It may save you some time, and being embarrassed to ask a question you know has been covered before. Of course, you are always free to send a Private Message to any of the moderators or other members to get a more personal answer.
