Pine Lake & Lower Barker Reservoir May 23-26 (report)
#1
got to Pine Lake Friday evening about 6 pm - hedgesd and nighthawk were already at our campsite at pine lake campground - a huge campsite, we had 4 tents up, we could have easily put up 4-8 more! nice big campsites in the ponderosa pines . . one online report says pine lake is 7700 feet,

i caught a nice 14 -15 inch rainbow and a beautiful pound sized brookie - great colors!

but it was dead slow most of the afternoon . . .no other bites on worms, powerbait

sunday we spent all day at pine lake, pretty slow but everybody got something - i got a baby bow, one of nighthawk's sons got one, the other got two, all kinda small, nighthawk caught a couple including this nice rainbow . .

we got some short strikes on wooly buggers, couldnt hook up, one of the float tubers there recommended brown, and olive . . there were quite a few tubes out, and the shorelines were busy, but not totally crazy with people . .actually the campsite was nice and quiet until around 10 am, so we slept in nice and comfy . . all in all a great trip, just pine lake i learned isnt the greatest jumping off point to fish alot of other waters . .

many thanks to nighthawk for the awesome cookin' and dutch oven cobbler, and many thanks as always to hedgesd, lifelong utah resident who gave us great advice and showed us the way!

ill let the other guys post their comments and pics . . .

Great report SM. I posted 2 reports on Duck Creek. I will have to get my otherposts done Tuesday. Glad you liked the food. It was nice to meet hedgesd there. What a great guide. I am glad you can and gave us some great tips on fishing. Thanks again SM and hedgesd.

With my arm in a sling I wasn't trying to catch fish. Boy oh boy that food was good. I need to get that cobbler recipe, it was perfect. Your sons were great and I wish we could of got them some fish while I was there.

We need to do it again sometime and I'll take you to a great spot.

Here's the camping spot. [Image: HEDG2797CustomImage0268985.jpg]
