about the fishing penalty
#1
This the first time for my friend fishing, unfortunately, he was checked by the officer, so ....
He is a student of Olemiss.

Any one know what the fine is for not having your fishing license in MS state?

And if the penalty is too high, is there any method to reduce it?

Thank you so much!

If he has no other problems with the law and this is his first offense with state game and fish commission he might get it dropped.

Have him go buy a state fishing license right now.

Then have him appeal to the state at his hearing and
show that he has bought his license and promise to never make the mistake again.

Being a college student and if he hasn't been in a lot of trouble with the law he has a good chance of it being dismissed or the minimum fine.

Quote:a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in an amount not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for the first offense. For the second or any subsequent offense a nonresident shall be fined in an amount not less than Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
