Utah Lake East Bay: whities and a walleye
#1
Went out for the last couple hours of light yesterday and found a willing school of nice size whities. The last several weeks I've only managed singles here and there.

After one hit, the fish on the other end of the line felt heavier than the hefty whities I was into. Turned out to be a fat 15" walleye. I couple whities later I had another fish on that felt different. It was a healthy crappie big enough to make holding it a bit tricky.

The walleye and about half the whities took a red head road runner with a green tail. The crappie and more whities took a 3" green twisty tail on a red head jig. 1 or 2 whities took a yellow and white jig with short sparkly hair.

Very few bugs and mosquitos while I was fishing but the ride in was through a blizzard of small critters pelting my face and arms.

A great way to finish a HOT saturday.

Are you fishing on the west side of I-15, or in the canals right in East Bay ???

West of I-15 along the edge where the open part of the lake meets the marsh and before the plant life gets very thick.
