Took a trip down to FL to do some Peakcock bass fishing in Miami and some bass fishing in the everglades. I've been looking forward to catching my first peacock for some time. The trip was sure worth it! We were lucky enough to get alot of peacock action. The guides had us flipping live shiners while sight fishing. These fish are absolutely beautiful! The best part is they fight like smallmouth! Every fish gave a few great runs once they saw the boat. Really a great sport fish to target. Hope you enjoy the video!

I always wanted to go to south america to catch some of those guys. They look like so much fun. I noticed they dont get real big in florida. do you happen to know how big they get in florida??? I have some friends that live down there and i may take a trip, since it would be alot cheaper that South America lol.

No I don't guide. We were on a guided trip. The captain said that a great Peacock down there is 5-6 lb range - but I know they get them bigger there. Nothing like they do in South America though. Our guide does guided South American trips, and they get them occasionally in the 20 lb range. Imagine what that fight would be like!?
