Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season at Kitsap Memorial State Park will be closed until further notice.
Effective date: May 15, 2011 until further notice.
Species affected: All clams and oysters.
Location: Kitsap Memorial State Park. The park is located in Hood Canal in Kitsap County.
Reason for action: Recent surveys indicate that shellfish populations have declined, and there are insufficient clams and oysters for harvest.
