Went fishing on Friday night with a friend and landed some dandies. We brought home 5 and threw back at least twice that many that needed to get bigger. Two of the cats were just shy of 28" with one of them having a head that was 5" wide. Lost two monsters while nearly losing my rod to the drink I barely saved it in time but due to line failure I never did get to see the monsters so they will live to swim another day.

So that's how you get them to stop squirming when you fillet them! Nice haul though!

Good to know they're still biting. Sounds like some fun - those really big ones were probably carp! [:p]
So when you say "night" - you meaning like after dark into the wee hours? How're the bugs? Or is it TOO hot for them even?
Neglectful me, having been out in FAR too long. Needs ta remedy that!
Thanks for the report.

Yes it was the wee hours. Went launched a little before 9 p.m. and returned @ 3:30. The mosquitos were annoying for a bit but the gnats were far worse they swarmed like crazy anytime we turned on a light.
