Was out with the Family on Cold Lake for Lake Trout in August. I think we got on the water around 10 AM and caught 24 Lakers trolling various spoons and an apex. Took a nice break on one of the sand beaches for lunch. Found that someone had left a little firestand on the beach where we cooked up some hot dogs. What an amazing calm day though, have to love fishing cold lake. Biggest lakers caught were 70 cm and all were returned to the deep. I hope this fishery is able to continue producing... there sure are a lot more anglers out there then there used to be. Hope it doesn't colapse again. For now it is great fun though.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. Trying to remember where cold lake is. South of slave? Or is it on the other side closer to Edmonton?

It's on the Alberta Saskatchewan boarder north east of Edmonton. This is where the Air Weapons Range is.
