My buddies and I wanna go on a backpacking trip this weekend, one of our friends is leaving for basic training this summer and we wanted to do something fun before he went. Normally the Unitas would be the perfect place to go since they are relatively close and the fishing opportunities are abundant, but since that wont be possible because of the time of year I was hoping to get some other suggestions from my fellow fishermen. what would be a good place to go, preferably with some good fishing?

Backpacking anywhere before June is kind of rare. Even this year with the warm temps, there's snow at the trailheads to most of the well known lakes on the Wasatch Front and a lot of the Uintah lakes are still ice capped. There's a few places with developed campgrounds open right now, like Rockport. Most other places aren't open until next week.
