las vegas trout tournament
#1
Thought I'd share this flyer with anyone thats interested. They can be found at Bass Pro, Sportsmans, or Big 5. You can also find more info on facebook. Check las vegas fishing club or sincity outdoors trophy board. From what I've heard the lakes will be stocked with Nebraska Tailwalkers, from 3 to 25 lbs.

Thank you for posting this up etrout. This is such a great idea. I live near Floyd Lamb and fish it often so I feel inclined to post.

After reviewing the payouts for adults I was surprised to not see bigger payouts for the top 3 prizes. Tons of people will show up for this event and a good percentage will buy-in at the gate for $80.

Let’s say 30 adults enter (low estimate) that is $2,400 and 1st place is $250 after registration fee that leaves $170. 3rd place is $75 after registration fee it is breakeven. The numbers don’t add up! Where does the rest of the money go?

I totally get this is a family fun fishing tournament and the hosts have expenses. My family 2 adults and 2 children would cost $164 if I register early. I just don’t see any value in fishing the tournament after looking at payouts. The only thing that gets me excited is the Nebraska Tailwalkers. Also no mention how many and how much tagged fish are.

I am in no way affiliated with or organizing this event. Supposedly payouts will go up as registration numbers go up. It is a pretty steep price to pay, but then again when do we have 3 to 25 lb trout stocked in our local ponds?
From my understanding, it's a private individual throwing this event. So leasing the park, hiring security, and stocking the fish are all out of his pocket. Check youtube for Nebraska Tailwalkers to see whats being stocked.

I was hesitant at first too, but the opportunity to catch fish like that less than 10 minutes from the house, sounds good to me.

I will join this tournament in a heartbeat if there is a set # of people allowed in the tournament.

No way am i paying 75.00 bucks to be line crossed and deal with rude people. I have caught tons of Nebraska Tailwalkers out of Irivine Lake in california. The entry amout will be worth it, if there are limited people in it.

I checked with NDOW and they called Floyd Lamb Park.
No permit has been requested, filed or granted.

You seem to know more about this than the flyer states.

This may be legitimate.

Do you have a link to back up this information you have posted and continued to post with additional information?

All I know is what's on the flyer and what I've read on the Las Vegas Fishing club Facebook page. Supposedly, Lawrence Delgado, has obtained the permits and is hosting this event. You can look him up on FB to verify.

Hello my fellow fisherman and women. I'm thinking of putting on a trout tournament this winter at floyd Lamb with my own private stocking of trout. Before spending that kind of money. How many of you would attend a event like this? Keep in mind the fish would not be the tiny fish you normally see in vegas. I'm taking 3 - 20 Rainbow Trout.
