Do I have to register my Utah boat on their website or is that just for out of staters? The course says I can and I have the link but do I have to? and what do I gain by doing it?

Residents who own a boat who are also registered with DMV will also pay a annual $10 AIS fee during registration. All you need to do is either fill out the daily questionnaire at the launch site or take the online test which is good for the calendar year and make sure its displayed on your dash when launching. Nonresidents have their procedure to follow also.

I believe that is just for those from out of state.
