FISHING: Fair
The Fly Fishing yesterday was tough duty across the board, all of the regions rivers were on the rise with the Hoh R. and Queets R. basically totally out of shape! even the Cutthroat in Sol-Duc didn't want to play. I took a little stroll into the "Bark Hole" on the lower stretch of the "Duc" to peek in on the Salmon...and there were quit a few fresh ones finning around in there but rising river conditions coupled with raging wind had them way off and uncooperative. Good/great news is that this substantial deluge we just had is going to bring in many a fresh fish for us in the upcoming week.
Sol-Duc (sole~duck) River-- Great shape today, way up from yesterday due to a major dose of agua during the night. I saw a few Sockeye in here on Friday and good friend and fellow guide Chris Senyohl did mange to pin and land a dandy Sockeye along with several big Cutthroat and two smallish but very fresh Springers. Gus Garcia had two respectable Steelhead lnded while Gerry wright another excellent local guide also managed to put the hoop under a big fresh Spring King. Another week or two and it will be very, very good fishing for those "Sockeye" and the incidental Summer Steelhead.
Note: It is strictly catch and release on ALL Wild Steelhead.
