REPORTS: It's down about 300 cfs as of this morning, but still not a great option. There are some fish that'll eat, there always are, but in general, you'll have to work hard for a very few fish. As water levels continue to fall and the end of the week warms up slightly, this river will once again become a main focus for us. Right now, though, you'll be better off on either Rock Creek, The West Fork or the lower Clark Fork.

HATCHES: Salmonflies, baetis, midges, march brows, caddis, green drakes.

FLIES: Buggers, deep and slow tandem nymph rigs.

WEATHER: TODAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY THIS MORNING...WITH PARTIAL CLEARING BY AFTERNOON. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING LATER THIS AFTERNOON. HIGHS 70 TO 75. EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. TONIGHT...CHANCE OF SHOWERS... ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE EVENING MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOWS 46 TO 51. THURSDAY...SHOWERS LIKELY... HIGHS 58 TO 63... WEST WINDS 10 TO 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON. THURSDAY NIGHT...CHANCE OF SHOWERS... MOSTLY CLOUDY... LOWS 42 TO 47 WEST WINDS AROUND 15 MPH IN THE EVENING. FRIDAY...CHANCE OF SHOWERS... MOSTLY CLOUDY... HIGHS 60 TO 65 WEST WINDS 15 TO 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON. FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY... LOWS 39 TO 44... HIGHS 68 TO 73. SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY... LOWS 40 TO 45... ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Cooler weather and light rains will have this river fishing well again by the end of the week.
