Lake Keowee Fishing
#2
Hi Greenhorn,

Keowee is a pretty tough lake to fish. When the lake was built, all tree and stumps were pretty much removed.... So stucture is river beds, ledges, hidden humps in the lake, etc. Most of the fish are now suspending at about 30-40 feet. Having luck doodling, drop shotting, etc. Have had very good luck lately with a lure locals call a horsehead with a fluke. (white) A horsehead is a lead jig (kinda) with a single spinner on the bottom. The jig head resembles a horses head. Add a white flute and SLOW retrive at about 20-30 feet....depending on what you see on your depth finder. A little attractant helps.

Re: hot hole or discharge...... I do not fish here as it is off limits in tournaments.

Have a good time and remember to CATCH and RELEASE!

Hope this helps,
