The Gorge usually freezes from the north moving south with the bays freezing first. Last year it froze around the bend by Buckboard on the 4th of Jan. We were fishing the bay at Firehole on the first of December for browns and Rainbows. If you find out how far it is frozen, please post and let us know I am looking forward to heading out there this winter. I hope it freezes down by the state line earlier this year but I won't hold my breath.
