80+ lb Yellowtail, oh yeah!

[cool]From SoCal to Baja we call 'em Yellowtail AKA forktails AKA forkies. In Oz and NZ they're known as Yellowtail Kingfish AKA Kingfish. Allegedly they are the same species though here we don't usually see them over 40 or 50 pounds with 70 pounders being extraordinary. !00 pounders aren't uncommon Down Under.

They are a member of the Jack family. They are extremely strong & stubborn fighters and use rocks to their advantage when trying to escape.

Excellent eating.
