AND THE WINNER'S ARE?
#1
To begin, I would like to thank all anglers for their participation on the Lures and Baits Board. If has grown a lot over the past 6 weeks given all your efforts.

Yep that's right, only six weeks and in that time it has grown a lot.

I also look forward to it growing even more, and hearing from many other anglers, over the coming months. This includes those people who drop in often for just a look around as well.

Feel free to join in as this board is for all anglers and from any global location.

Here are the results from our competition. Congratulations to these three posters, and to all other anglers who took the time, and interest, to make themselves know to us.

First out of the random draw for the Calstar rod was:

NINSK - Congratulations!

Second out of the draw for a Demon Hot Shot Lure was:

DoOlie11 - - Congratulations!

and third draw for another Hot Shot Lure was:

Hara - Congratulations!

All three anglers need to send me their postal address via e-mail and we'll get those prizes sent out.

While there were many great posts, here are a couple ( meaning two or more - loose Aussie translation) that I thought were interesting and some of my reasons why.

"Setting the hook" was a real useful question and one that I am sure many anglers learn to develop a feel for over time.

"Real Sea Sick" was another given that motion sickness affects many anglers. The discussion on this issue may have helped anglers find some other useful ways to combat the human chum line and all the discomfort and indignity that can come with it.

"Dale and the Big Muskie" series of posts were also great. A real challenge and well covered by Dale in his quest to finally hook up, and stay with, this big old Muskie. Ofcourse that story is far from over and I look forward to more posts on that fish challenge.

There were also a number of really useful posts about reel choices and the importance of matching reels with rods, and the fish being targeted.

If there was a "quiet achiever award" then I think Thor would definately be in the running. He provided many replies, useful ideas, balanced views and options in his comments to a lot of posts and I think that effort is worthy of public recognition. - Congratulations Thor!

Also feel free to let me, and other anglers, know below what your favourite posts were and why?

I would also like to acknowledge the assistance of the other board moderators who have played the other major part in the growth of this board.

A talented, seasoned and passionate group who like me, moderate these boards out simply out of love alone for the sport of fishing. A real team effort and I like that.

So all up, it has been a great 6 weeks for me as the moderator of this board and I look forward to many more given the caliber, interest, learning taken up, and diversity of anglers that we have seen here over this time.

Until then,

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve B
Moderator Lures/Baits Forum
http://www.demonjigs.com
