Been there done that Allen. lol (not to mention divorced twice)<br>There are some great conventional reels out there that do cast a lot better than 500s even ones that have been modified with bearings vs bushings.<br>I'm not well versed in all types of reels bit one of the longest casting ones is the Avely from the land down under, our Aussie mates are almost able to put a lead into low orbit with them.<br>One of the other big factors in gettin distance is the right kind of line, possibly your line is stiffer than it should be so it jumps off the spool rather than flows.<br><br>Just a thought.<br><br>
