Keys to catching Trout?
#7
In the past before they planted trout in Irvine, it was notorious for catching "giant" crappie. Mini-jigs will catch them and it's about that time. Ask the guys in the tackle store where the "Fence-line" is. That's where we used to get them. We recently caught trout on the west shore using just enough weight to sink the inflated worm...slowly. Now and then twitch the rod in a tantilizing manner. The trout swim that area up and back continually. As he days go by they get smarter and smarter. There are a lot of trout in that lake and if you aren't catching them keep changing tackle presentations. My mind set, Is to believe that a trout swims by my bait about every two minutes even though though they pass it up.
