Bear Lake on Apr 5

[#800000]Kentofnsl was kind enough to ask me along on an adventure to Big Blue in the north. However, the Big Blue was more like Big Green due to the runoff silt and debris clouding it up. We launched off the east side and worked our way south stopping to anchor and jig at 3 locations were the water depth was in the 65 to 75 FOW range.[/#800000]

[#800000]I was first up with a nice cutthroat in the 17/18" range that had a tag protruding from its dorsal fin - Tag #14940. I'm still waiting to hear back from Scott T. after reporting the catch to him and asking for some history on the fish. I didn't think to measure the length before releasing it. Sorry about that. That was my one and only for the day, but a nice catch to be sure.[/#800000]

[#800000]Kent was next up and brought to net a nice 20" that was also released and then later Kent brought in a 10/11" baby that was also released.[/#800000]

[#800000]The weather was nice , if not a bit on the chilly side. Low 20s at launch time and warmed up to just over 40 when we quit for the day at about 3 PM. The winds were light and variable most of the day which made us keep our coats on all day. And the bibs and winter boats were nice to have on as well.[/#800000]

[#800000]All were caught right on the bottom using tube jigs tipped with cisco.[/#800000]

Sounds like fun and nice fish... Glad you didn't get blown off there... How are the ramps on that side? I hear the water level is rising fast... Did they put the docks in yet? I'd like to get back over there before the farming ties me down, but not sure when I can do that with the weather this year... Thanks for the report... J

It was nice to get out on the water with you Bob. I wish the guide would have done a better job getting us into fish. I also had my line snap, about 5 feet from the tip of my rod, on a hook set.[mad] Earlier, the line it got wrapped around the MinnKota prop and likely was nicked.
