Willard Ice report 1/30
#1
Made a run up to check the Ice at Willard today, the entire lake is capped. At the north marina there was less than an inch of ice at the ramp so I didn’t walk out. At the South Marina there was about 2” of ice I walked out and confirmed that drilling several holes. I talked to a guy sitting on the dock he said there was a little over 2’ of water there. I walked out and drilled a few holes. While I was there a fox walked out to the channel leading out to the lake. I suspect with the cold temperatures there should be fishable ice by the weekend out there. There was water flowing over the baffles.

Thanks for the drive by report Shawn, I figured it would cap again this week, with these cold temps but I'm glad you confirmed it.

Guess I won't be launching my float tube this week.

Thanks for the report. WB has a special place in my heart. Too bad I live an hour and a half away.

Can't find an auger big enough to dig a tube-sized hole.

Great to hear that it could be fish able this year. Looking forward to a report.
