P Hopper and I went out on the Bear Friday and had a fairly good day. The weather was fantastic. We jigged around the Rock Pile / Gus' Point area and picked up half a dozen fish up to 8 lbs. Light color jigs tipped with cisco were the preferred bait .
I also tried one of P Hopper's Gorge baits. A long snakie looking thing called a "Slugo". I tried a pearl and a dark silver with black back. We got some hits on it but didn't get any fish in. The best techique seemd to be to suspend it a foot or more above the bottom and dead stick it, letting the boat create and sutle action. Here's some pics of two of the fish we caught. P Hopper and his 6 lb mack BearLakeMack's 8 lb Lake Trout
