NEW WATERFOWL COMMITTEE WILL MEET FEB. 4 IN COLUMBIA[/url]



The newly formed Waterfowl Advisory Committee to the S.C. Natural Resources Board will hold its first meeting 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Room 335 (board room) of the Rembert Dennis Building at 1000 Assembly St. in Columbia.

The new Waterfowl Advisory Committee was formed recently by the S.C. Natural Resources Board to explore the many different factors that affect South Carolina's waterfowl resources. The committee will consider and discuss input from citizens and wildlife professionals, and report directly to the Natural Resources Board with recommendations on such issues as law enforcement, management of Wildlife Management Area lands and state waterfowl hunting regulations.

South Carolina Natural Resources Board member Smith Ragsdale of Georgetown was appointed to serve as chairman of the Waterfowl Advisory Committee. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone with business for the advisory committee, needing the agenda or directions to the meeting place should contact Susan Johnson at the S.C. Department of Natural Resources in Columbia at (803) 734-3889.
