STATE HERITAGE TRUST BOARD WILL MEET FEB. 5 IN COLUMBIA

The South Carolina Heritage Trust Advisory Board will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 in Room 335 (board room) of the Rembert Dennis Building at 1000 Assembly St. in Columbia.

The Heritage Trust Advisory Board meeting is open to the public, and anyone with business for the advisory board or needing directions to the meeting may contact Stuart Greeter in the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Columbia office at (803) 734-3918. The DNR Heritage Trust Program protects significant natural and cultural lands in South Carolina.

Dr. Terry Ferguson, a Wofford College professor, is chairman of the Heritage Trust Advisory Board. The policy making Heritage Trust Advisory Board serves as a liaison between the public, the Heritage Trust Program and the S.C. Natural Resources Board. Formed by state law in 1976, Heritage Trust has protected 80,913 acres on 69 state heritage preserves found throughout South Carolina.
