Collapsible Landing Net?
#1
I have a small (14 ft) boat so space is definitely a concern. Any suggestions for a collapsible/telescoping net that is less likely to tangle when getting stripers out of the net?

If your tossing cranks you are going to have to deal with messes in the net for the most part. How it goes. Hate it too.

I have the net out always but also have this out on deck too:

If it isn't some trophy fish the grip does the job and keeps those trebles out of a net or your hand/fingers.

This is a good net that extend out easily, I like the rubberized nets the best. There are cheaper nets but they don't work as smooth as this one.

Here is another one that is cheaper but does not extend as well:

By the way welcome to the site.

I love the EGO brand nets. Super nice stuff. But with the rubber netting one darn near needs two hands to handle it. That rubber net adds a whole lot of weight.

A friend has the EGO brand that we use when fishing in his boat for kokanee but I have the second one, cheaper and lighter but when you get in a hurry the extendable shaft will pull right apart, if you try extending it too fast. It has the rubber net as well but it's not too bad when fishing with another angler.

i used to fish in a 14' Lund, and would still carry a full size net with me all the time. But, most stripers you are going to catch you can just lift them into the boat.

I highly recommend you have a pair of gloves though. They are more useful than a net. I only say this because I did land a 44lb striper by myself without a net or gaff. Knowing how hard it was and luck also, I would rather use a gaff if you plan on keeping what you catch

Thanks for all your suggestions! I'll definitely include a LipGripper with the new net suggested here.
